The Upper Bari Doab Canal serves as the lifeline for the border region of Gurdaspur district in Punjab. The canal underwent remodeling two decades ago, and the current necessity is to undertake its remodeling once more. Despite this urgency, the task of securing additional funds from the central government lies within the purview of the elected representatives of the state in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. Regrettably, they have not been successful in this endeavor. As the Lok Sabha elections of 2024 approach, let us come together and unite our voices for development. It is crucial to raise awareness among the central government about our pressing demands. Through collective effort, we can drive the desired change.
